E10S5: Finding People on two Anthills 🐜👩‍🏫 (8-28-23)

Greeting my glorious gospel gang! Man. This week has been a week. President Hansbrow set a goal for every mission companionship to find new to teach this week. The average of finding is 0.5 a week. We managed to find 1 person this week! 🥳 But it was definitely taking a stand on an anthill (except it mattered).  Phrase of the week: Taking an stand on an anthill.  Meaning: The stand you are taking will cause havoc; often a stand that is too small to actually matter.  Example: He was taking a stand on an anthill by arguing about poltics during family dinner. This phrase is really fitting because I have stood on 2 anthills this week.  Anthill number #1 I felt prompted to visit this family, though they just had a newborn baby a week ago 😬. It turns out we in the right place. We talked to one lady about family history for 1 hour and then the husband of the family drove up so we didn't have to knock to wake up a baby. 2 miracles right there.  We were on our way back and we spot Rochelle

(No subject) (8-21-23)

Friends!  This week has been full of learning experiences. Mostly the good kind.  Importantly, Sophia has really pulled through! Her life is getting kind rough but she went to church and found someone to go with her own accord. We have a lesson set up for Tuesday.  Naps I hate taking naps, especially on the mission. I don't take breaks. It has almost become a philosophy. Don't stop when you're tired, stop when it's done.   I just couldn't get negative thoughts out of my mind. While I was praying the story of Elijah came to my mind. Elijah was upset and the Lord told him to go to sleep.  That's exactly what I did and I felt so much better the whole week.  Creation  We went to the temple and I was praying about whether or not I should extend my mission. The story of the creation came to mind about everything has a time and a place. I love the temple so much.  Unity Christ has command us to be one, and if ye are not one ye are not mind. I realized that this is ke

S10E3: "I know there is somebody praying for me.” (8-14-23)

“I know there is somebody praying for me.” Evening Elegant Evangelists!  The phrase of the week came from my cousin Elder Martin (serving in Mesa Arizona). I have really been praying this week hard.  A Bumpy Week We had about 2-3 lessons set up each day and they all canceled 5 days in a row. Ahhhhhhhh. It is hard to find hope on day number 3. Saturday and Friday were dark days. I wish I wasn't so affected by other people and could trust the Lord more.  Someone is Praying for YOU We got a blessing on Friday and I have been trying to remember what God has told me. That there are people here for me. It stuck me that there while there is somebody praying for me to be safe (my friends and family) that there is somebody praying for me. Me to come and help.  I can picture all my friends thar I have been privileged to help teach the gospel throughout my mission: Danielle, Karli, Faith, Sedona, Debbie, Karoly, Wolf, Marissa, Russell, Bella, Arabella, Fabio, Jeremy, Ed, Ellie, Paxten, Wedne

S10E2: God Speaks Vietnamese ft Making a grown man cry (8-7-23)

"God speaks Vietnamese" Dilly dunces my dandy dudes! How are you all doing? I love you all so much.  Phrase of the week is from an amazing lesson with our friend Yen. English isn't her first language and we have talked to her a couple of times. She said that her home country believes in a different God and here we believe in a different one. She doesn't know what is true. We told her that if she read the Book of Mormon (we gave her a Vietnamese one) that she would know God is real. We told that God speaks Vietnamese and that made her so happy.  I really hope we are able to find someone that speaks Vietnamese, I am trying to learn a little but duolingo doesn't teach you how to say God just coffee 😆 SOPHIA IS GOING TO GET BAPTIZED! I have been stressing about her lessons and when we got there one of the first things she said was that she wants to get baptized and she was thinking about the end of August. It was a nice reminder that this is not my work but it'
